The New York Times ran two separate stories about UFOs

Today the New York Times ran two separate stories about UFOs. The by-lines for both articles lists three writers, Helene Cooper, Leslie Kean and Ralph Blumenthal.

One article details a sighting by a Navy pilot above the Pacific west of San Diego. The other article states that the Pentagon had a program that investigated reports of unidentified flying objectswhich was run by military intelligence official, Luis Elizondo. Elizondo is now part of the To The Stars team fronted by pop star Tom DeLonge.

The former Navy pilot, David Fravor, said he was “pretty weirded out” by this unexplained episode in 2004 while staging off the aircraft carrier Nimitz. This seems to be the same event that was discussed as part of the October 10 announcement by Tom DeLonge and his team of government insiders.

Both articles are very dry and written without any “giggle” factor. Were these articles the result of dogged investigative reporters rolling up their sleeves to uncover a good story? Or, were they orchestrated by elements within the government for some long term purpose?

I do not know, but it’s my sense is that for these stories to be covered in the paper of record, powers within the Pentagon must have given their okay.

Both articles link video footage of something disc shaped filmed from what seems to be a military aircraft. Interesting, but it doesn't show much beyond an oval blob. This is not a smoking gun. Both articles linked below:

And here is a post about the New York Times covering UFOs in an article by Ralph Blumenthal from April of 2017.

All the articles above are recommended reading. Below is a short video clip from Tom DeLonge's media company.

Grant Cameron has been talking a lot about the Open Minds Forum website (not to be confused with Alejandro Rojas’ OpenMindsTV site). Cameron frequently discusses how “CIA insiders” chat about things such as disclosure and the ToTheStars operation, often in “code” (saying seemingly silly things, which would not make sense to outsiders like you or me) on the Open Minds Forum. During the week of Dec. 4 through 8, there was plenty of chatter on the Open Minds Forum about a big UFO story, which would be published in the New York Times during the weekend of Dec. 9-10. It never appeared. I posted a comment to Grant about this on his YouTube page -- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2-HvGdV4xou1Q0G1Ks1_NQ/videos (using my pseudonym, Elron Hubcap) about the fact that the story never appeared. My comment received no response. Grant appeared on Linda Howe’s Dec. 14 edition of her Phenomenon podcast. Near the end, John Burroughs asked Grant about the promised New York Times story. Grant said that one of the OpenMinds Forum regulars had told him that the story would be big, although it would NOT be in the Times. Burroughs then asked Grant if the rumor was a reference to the story about the huge interstellar asteroid, which appeared in The Atlantic and Grant replied, “I don’t know”. Grant also remarked about Tom DeLonge’s dismay about a “war in Washington” over the release of his promised information on UFOs. Many of us have been hearing the “war in Washington” excuse since forever. However, it appears as though the scuttlebutt on the Open Minds Forum about the Times story might have been accurate, although with a premature publication date.

This following quote from one of the two the NYT articles is astounding. "Contracts obtained by The Times show a congressional appropriation of just under $22 million beginning in late 2008 through 2011. The money was used for management of the program, research and assessments of the threat posed by the objects.
The funding went to Mr. Bigelow’s company, Bigelow Aerospace, which hired subcontractors and solicited research for the program.Under Mr. Bigelow’s direction, the company modified buildings in Las Vegas for the storage of metal alloys and other materials that Mr. Elizondo and program contractors said had been recovered from unidentified aerial phenomena. "

I interpret this statement as an admission of a back engineering program paid for by the US government and going to a UFO believer billionaire to do the research. This is limited disclosure of great importance. I imagine that this effort has been created in part by the desire to cash in on back engineered technology that has allegedly been developed for decades. Very powerful people within the corporate elite are apparently behind this push. How far they are will be allowed to go with this gambit is likely being debated at the highest levels of corporate/Executive Branch power. Meanwhile UFO truth advocates and contact activists are busy organizing at the grass roots level demanding more openness on this subject. In following this struggle we should be clear that there are two kinds of disclosure, one pursued by experiencers and their supporters and the other by the elite forces that are currently in play as described by this article. UFO Intel I suspect is supporting both drives using their astounding psi capability to influence people in both obvious and clandestine subtle ways.

The rumor story I posted at Open Minds was completely accurate except the date. If you look there today you will see who posted the original NYTs rumor story - Isaac Koi who has connections to Puthoff, Nolan, and Green. I was guessing but it is the same reporter who is writing the book, a book which Mike also knows about.
